Amanda Li becomes a member of the ecoAmerica, Climate for Health Team

“Embracing the Intersection of Climate and Health: A Journey from Seattle to ecoAmerica”

Amanda Li, a native of the Bay Area, has recently joined ecoAmerica’s Climate for Health program as an APHA and Kaiser Permanente Community Health Fellow. With a background in Environmental Studies-Biology from Whitman College and a Masters of Public Health from the University of Washington, Li brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role.

Having served in the Peace Corps in Eswatini as a Youth Development Volunteer, Li developed a passion for public health and saw firsthand the interconnectedness of health and environmental issues. She has a strong commitment to health equity and anti-colonization in all areas of public health, recognizing the importance of addressing social and political contexts in public health efforts.

Li is excited to work with Climate for Health partners to support health professionals in integrating climate change issues into their work, empowering individuals to advocate for climate change issues, and promoting everyday solutions to the effects of climate change. She is inspired by ecoAmerica’s climate justice values and their focus on actionable solutions to create a healthier world.

In her new role, Li will be contributing to ecoAmerica’s impactful programs and learning from those around her to further elevate her work. With a background at the intersection of the environment and health, she is eager to dive deeply into this opportunity and continue to merge her passions for environmental protection and public health.
